Coeus is named for the titan of the celestial axis, the sculpture represents a cosmological needle. Unlike Marcus’s other sculptures, the light source isn't visible; instead, it reflects indirectly from the brass accent onto and across the white marble providing a very soft glow.
Coeus is carved from Statuario white marble from Carrara Italy. Statuario is one of the most prized marbles available for its stunning white color and delicate veining.
